David Gallagher Career

When he was 2 years old, his mother sent his photograph to various modeling agencies. Not long after that, little David bagged his first modeling assignment, which was for a print advertisement. He then appeared in advertisements for renowned brands such as’ Walt Disney,” Burger King,” Panasonic,” Hanes,” Tyson Foods,’ and’ Betty Crocker.’

He gradually became a somewhat known face as he grew up. At the age of 8, David got his first acting project, which was for the supporting role of’ Mikey Ubriacco’ in the 1993 romantic comedy’ Look Who’s Talking Now.’ The film received abysmal reviews from critics and was also a major box office disaster.

In 1995, a 10-year – old David appeared in the TV film ‘ It Was Him or Us ‘ as ‘ Stevie Pomeroy. ‘ David then appeared in two more supporting roles, in the TV films ‘ Summer of Fear ‘ as ‘ Zack Marshall ‘ and ‘ Bermuda Triangle ‘ as ‘ Sam ‘.

David had his major acting breakthrough in 1996, with the John Travolta-starrer romance / fantasy-drama entitled’ Phenomenon.’ David played’ Al Pennamin’ in this critically and commercially successful film. David was only 11 years old at the time, and this overwhelming success brought him better offers. He soon bagged the role of’ Simon Camden,’ which is still considered one of his best roles.

In the first seven seasons of the drama series ‘ 7th Heaven,’ he played’ Simon Camden.’ He also made a brief appearance in his tenth season. David’s role was that of the second son and fourth child of the series ‘ leading’ Camden’ family. The producers also wanted him for the eleventh season, but after the tenth season, David had no desire to play the role anymore.

His performance as’ Simon Camden’ in the’ 7th Heaven ‘ series earned David many accolades. He won a’ Teen Choice Award’ for his 2003 performance and was also nominated for the’ Young Artist Award ‘ quite a few times. In many series, such as’ Rocket Power’ and’ The Wild Thornberrys,’ David played voice roles in the late 1990s.

In 2000, David earned the first leading role in his career when he was offered the role of’ Marty Markham’ in the TV film’ The New Adventures of Spin and Marty: Suspect Behavior.’ In the early 2000s, he appeared in leading roles in films such as’ Little Secrets’ as’ David’ and’ Kart Racer’ as’ Scott McKenna. He essayed the supporting role of’ Brian’ in the 2005 film’ The Quiet.’

As he grew older, the quality of the roles he was offered deteriorated. He soon resorted to playing supporting roles in movies and TV series. He made small appearances in a number of series in the late 2010s, such as’ Saving Grace’ as’ Paul Shapiro’,’ Bones’ as’ Ryan Stephenson’,’ Without a Trace’ as’ Jeff Ellis’, and’ Smallville’ as’ Zan. He also appeared in a low-budget TV movie called’ Betwixt.’

In 2011, he appeared in the science fiction monster film JJ Abrams titled’ Super 8,’ playing the role of’ Donny.’ The film was a huge commercial success and also earned some fairly good reviews. The same year, he managed to get a lead role(‘ Reid Davis’) in the film ‘ Trophy Kids.’ After appearing in two episodes of’ Vampire Diaries’ in 2011, David appeared in small roles in series such as’ CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’ and’ CSI: NY.’ Recently, he was seen playing the supporting role of’ Brian’ in the TV film’ Born and Missing.’
